I have never tried these two, but the Eureka The Boss smart vac, is the best vacuum on the market for the price. Just like advertised it really is better than the Dyson. I know this doesn't really answer your question but I thought I would through it out there.

Can anyone tell me which upright vacuum cleaners were rated top 10 in Consumers Report for 2007? Thanks!

They were just on the Today show this morning touting their CR best buy Kenmore vacuum, but here is the 5/07 list from least repairs to most repairs:

Simlicity

But, Check out this month's edition because they have a list in there as well.
