Answer
If the parquet floors are real wood and waxed you should damp mop it after vacuuming without chemicals. Every 6 moths to a year have the floor guy in to paste polish it.

The tiles get cleaned with straight white vinegar the smell disappears when it dries no need to rinse...run the vent open a window. If they are extra dirty wash them with sudsy ammonia followed with the vinegar rinse.

Ammonia baking soda and a little bit of Dawn will clean the cabinets and the vent hood. Take the screens and put them in the dishwasher. Then wipe the cabinets with Murphy's oil soap after cleaning them. For stubborn areas make a paste of the baking soda ammonia and vinegar apply it to the area and let it sit for 30 minutes or more. These products will clean and disinfect. If the smell gets to you simmer vanilla extract with some water on the stove.

Get the gallon size White Vinegar and the Amonia and the big box of baking soda. Fill an empty spray bottle with the vinegar to clean countertops, glass the fridge etc.

The Big faced terry mops are great. http://www.poundsfloors.com/photos/Bona_hard_surface_Care_terry_lg.jpg There is also a microfiber face you can buy for it altho the terry with plain (cool) water will be fine for the parquet. Get a few replacement pads when you get the mop. Swiffers floor and 360 dusters are great for fast clean ups too.

These are the only products you need for the jobs mentioned. If the oven is not self cleaning get oven cleaner you can use it on dirty glass pans and stainless pots too. Clean the cutting board with soap then spray vinegar on it and let it dry. Microwave your sponge for 1 minute every night.

Cleanser is made with a paste of baking soda and vinegar. Baking soda and vinegar can get added to the wash too. Spray the vinegar after a shower and it will eat through soap scum and kill mold.

Lysol toilet cleaner, a Magic Eraser, Scotch Brite sponges, Brillo and Lemon Oil for wood furniture. A small bottle of bleach for blood clean ups is the only other thing I can think of.

Answer
There far superior vacuums out there for much less money than a Kirby! Top of the line vacuums such as the Aerus Lux, Miele, Sebo, and Riccar are far superior to anything Kirby produces.

You won't be skimping on performance with a Dyson, LG, or Oreck either.
