So I am 17, and my Grandparents own a small thrift store/ flea market business. There is a road side spot with a canopy around 20 ft long, and a water hose. Me and another employee n one of either his or my friends are looking to start a small car wash type thing. We want to have it every Friday and Saturday, we were thinking $10 for washing and vacuuming. I have a few questions which I will list below....
Me and my friend are gonna be like "in charge" and we will be buying the products, so how do we pay the employee we will be having help us???
We were thinking every $100 we give them $33 then take 20% of their earning to go towards the payment of the water and products, Is that too little to pay???
Do we charge extra for vans, SUVs, or trucks?
Do we need any sorta license?
My grandparents would be renting me the spot so would I be under their license?
Is it better to have girls or guys wash the cars? I prefer me and my friend since we both would be females (not a bikini wash though)
Where or how can we find cheap/wholesale car washing products?
And any other information about this please let me know!!!

1) An employee doesn't work for a percentage of what you take in, that would be a partner.
2) Why would this employee give you 20% of their salary? 20% of the $33 you would pay them is $6.60, just pay them $26.40.
3) Vans and SUVs are bigger than cars so they would need more cleaning products and time to clean. It would be logical to charge more. A thought about how you are charging: what are the car washes in that area charging? You aren't working with a garage or any other place people would normally take their cars to, your car wash is going to look like what it is, some kids washing cars next to a small thrift store/ flea market business.
4) Don't know if you need a license in your municipality. Do know that your grandparents have a small thrift store/ flea market business license, not a car wash license so, no you wouldn't be under their license. More importantly you would not be under their insurance and as you haven't mentioned insurance at all consider that if a car gets damaged or the owner even claims it was damaged, you, your parents, your grand parents and the other employee are getting sued by their insurance company so don't even think of starting this venture up without insurance (the money for which you will need to come up with before opening your business).
5) Doesn't matter who washes the car, boys or girls though you would definitely do more business as a bikini car wash.
6) Go online to compare prices of car washing products and you can also check with stores in your area.
