Who invented the first vacuum cleaner (hoover)
Answer
Ives McGaffey, 1869..
He got the idea during an argument with his wife, when she said, "Ives, your life sucks."
Speaking about Hoover reminds me of the motto for Herbert Hoover High School; "Education in a vacuum."

Is it okay to step on the vacuum cleaner cord while vacuuming (does it do any harm to it)?
?
I had my running shoes on and stepped on it on hardwood floors, the cord puts up with it. I don't see why it would. It's all metal wiring inside and tough plastic it seems. It's a Dyson DC33 vacuum cleaner.
I wonder though if stepping on the cord while it's on the carpet is less bad then on the hardwood kitchen floors?
I think what the answer may be is that stepping on the cord is not bad BUT vacuuming over it with the spinning brush of the vacuum cleaner IS bad. Right? We used to accidentally vacuum over our old vacuum cleaner (cheaper model Hoover brand) and it developed holes of exposed wiring that we had to tape over with electrical tape.

if you are going to run over it until you damage it, then you have answered your own question, haven't you? On the other hand, if it only occurs a few times, I doubt you would do any damage simply by A) running over it, or B) stepping on it...... a few times!
