Two things, get a good quality, sealed system vacuum with a HEPA filter and an air cleaner for your son's room.
It is imperative that your vacuum system be sealed to contain all the dust and dirt that it picks up within the containment system and then exhaust 100% of that air through the HEPA filter. If your vacuum leaks, then the filters can't do their job, no matter what type of filters they are.
Dyson, Miele, LG, and the Oreck Quest Pro are all sealed system vacuums that are high quality, well built machines.

An air purifier will also help by filtering out dust and dander suspended in the air. At this time I'd recommend a simple HEPA filtration unit such as the Honeywell 50250.

For a little more you can purchase the REME+, which is installed into your homes HVAC system. This unit runs about $750, but it will purify your entire home, not just a single room, making the whole house a safe environment for your son.
