best vacuum cleaner image
I'm about to buy a vacuum cleaner so I can thoroughly clean up glass that was broken on my floor. Any suggestions on a good one?

For glass on carpet, you should probably use a shop-vac. If you use a regular vacuum, I like hoover (with a bag...not bagless). Do NOT use the vacuum itself to clean up the glass. Use the extension rod to suck it up. Using a beater-bar on the carpet with glass will just imbed the glass more.

I have a vacuum cleaner (Eureka 2961BVZ) that I bought a little less than a year ago, and every time I run it it smells like something's burning, and it's burned 2 bands in a very short time. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks!

Is something else "stuck" in the vacuum cleaner so that the brushes are not rotating freely? Are you sure you have the correct size of band?
A quick look round the net at your model, and I've seen some pretty shoddy reviews of it--I guess it's not terribly well regarded.
You might try finding the owner's manual online and seeing if there's any hints or tips in it to help you. Best of luck.
